Miguel and Ella

I've always loved the names Miguel and Ella. In fact, I even want to name my kids as such. When I was in elementary, I fell in love with the movie of Aga Muhlach and Dayanara Torres entitled "Basta't Kasama Kita. I know it's another typical Filipino and maybe an out of the ordinary movie--a real princess falling in love with a super handsome jeepney driver. Nevertheless, I loved how pure the heart of Ella was (portrayed by the former Ms. Universe). It was my local version of a happily ever after fairy tale. And since then, whenever I make up stories in my idle mind, the girl's name would always be Ella. Could be short for Mariella, Isabella or Angela.
Back in high school, I was a huge fan of Jude Deveraux! I asked our librarian to reserve some of the pocket books so I could be the first in line to borrow them. I even asked some of my classmates who never utilized their library cards to borrow these books in exchange for a Trigonometry assignment. I shared homeworks and that's even a better deal right? haha. Yeah, I'm a bit nerdy, chubby and pimply in high-school. Anyway, my favorite was the Montgomery Saga. Oh how I loved these characters!!! They are the epitome of man! Then I suddenly came across this "An Angel For Emily" book which is not at all related to the Montgomerys'. It's a fantasy love story as the supposed to be guardian angel of this damsel in distress, Emily fell in love with her and vice versa. His name is Michael. I never liked the name Michael, but it's Spanish counterpart, Miguel fascinates me. Even my favorite angel is San Miguel. (but I was never a fan of San Miguel Beer)

Then recently, ABS-CBN finally aired the comeback love team of EchoTin in the teleserye "Dahil May Isang Ikaw". Well at least it's not anymore "a rich guy falling in love with a maid" love story. Bravo for that!! Surprisingly, the main characters were named Miguel and Ella. I'm watching it and never fail to be twitterpatted, especially that they are carrying my favorite names. Love it, love it!! At least, the characters I kept creating in my mind for the past years are finally alive, even if it's not my own.
Oh and I predict, few months or years from now, the song Destiny by Jim Brickman will be a theme song of a movie. But for the meantime, we'll use it first on our wedding.
